MISSION: Welcome to the Religious Education program at St. Mary’s! We believe that parents are the primary educators of children in matters of faith. Our goal is to help them succeed in that role. Working under the norms and regulations of the Diocese of Harrisburg, we provide organized religious education during the school year for children from preschool through eighth grade. While our teachers instruct on the tenets of our religion, it is primarily through the Christian life parents lead at home and in the community that our Catholic faith will be passed on to our children. In addition to instruction, the Religious Education program is here to provide resources to parents so that they can teach their children the Catholic faith under the guidance and direction of our Bishop.

I am excited to let you know that Registration for this year's Religious Education is officially open. Please use the following link to register your child/children. I have included the start dates below for each of our classes/sessions. Please let me know if you have any questions. A full calendar for the year will be posted soon. A non-refundable registration fee is required for each student/family. This fee helps with the cost of books, materials, and sacramental retreats. No child will be denied participation because of financial difficulties. Please reach out to me to discuss.

***PLEASE NOTE 50.00 / family MAX for St. Mary's parishioners***Checks can also be made out to St. Mary’s Church with PREP REGISTRATION written in the memo and mailed to the Parish Office 119 S. Prince Street, or dropped in the collection basket at Mass marked PREP.
Classes will be held Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 10:50 at St. Mary's Church in the school building for the following grades:
PREP classes (3rd-6th grades)
The first PREP class (3rd - 6th) will begin Sunday September 8th
Level 2 Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (1st and 2nd grades)
Returning 2nd graders will begin a week earlier on Sunday September 8th
The first complete Level 2 CGS will begin TBA (all returning 1st and 2nd graders as well as new students)
Level 1 Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (ages 3 - 6 years old)
The first Level 1 CGS Sunday Session will beginTBA
The first Level 1 CGS Tuesday Session will begin TBA
The first Level 1 CGS Wednesday Session will begin TBA
7th and 8th grade Confirmation PREP Classes will be held Sunday evenings twice a month 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm at St. Joseph's Church
The first Confirmation PREP class and Parent Meeting for 7th and 8th grades will be September 15th.
Our 7th and 8th grades classes will meet Sunday evenings (twice a month) 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm at St. Joseph church. The calendar will be available soon.
